As the Earth Tilts on Its Axis

In these days, when it seems that the earth surely must have tilted on its axis for so much to be going so wrong, let us place our faith in God, our Father; Jesus, his Son; and the helper that Jesus asked God to send to help us after his death, the Holy Spirit.

It's not easy to understand such spiritual things, but if we delve more deeply into the scriptures, we find an understanding that helps the pieces to fall into place. Many people say we are going through the end times. Certainly, there is evidence to make us wonder, at the very least. How can we cope with so much stress? Through the knowledge that, if we truly believe, we will be taken up to be with the Holy Trinity (God, Jesus, Holy Spirit) while the world gone mad falls into ruin.

2 Thessalonians 2:1-4

"Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter—asserting that the day of the Lord has already come. Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God."

My Notes: Of course, that man is as far from God as one can be, as it seems we are seeing. Are these the end times? It’s certainly easy to think they might be. Only Our Heavenly Father knows when the time will come. Still, we need to be preparing ourselves for when the time does come. How wonderful it will be to live with God and Jesus in God’s beautiful home with the animals who now are too wild for us to spend time with and enjoy. I like to imagine a spring orchard with fresh green grass, blossoming fruit trees, and my taking a nap with a fuzzy brown bear to keep me company. Yes, a real life teddy bear. For me, that would indeed be Heaven.
